The rebranding project was started as a bigger effort to launch a new version of the product. The new version, although similar, has different kind of approach from the previous one. And therefore mean different type of messaging, target personas, etc. A rebrand will not only give the impression that is something new going on with the company and its product, but also position ourselves in the massive data space industry.
The name Y42 is inspired by the movie The Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy. We incorporated the brand story as well as the space theme deep into the new visuals and messaging, but not too much that it would sound cheesy.
